Alumni Engagement Off to a Strong Start in the New Year

Our alumni community is off and running! Over the past few weeks, the Alumni Association has connected with several reunion groups who are busy planning their milestone celebrations during SHS Homecoming 2024. Just this past weekend,16 gymnastics alumni and former coaches returned to campus to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their state championship titles. Next month, nearly a dozen more alumni will be on campus teaching and performing as a part of Odyssey, Stevenson's biennial arts festival.

Our calendar is full of many other exciting opportunities to interact with fellow Patriots in the coming months. I hope you will explore ways to get involved, as well. Whether it's volunteering at a Foundation event, attending an alumni gathering, mentoring an ambitious student, or simply sharing your news and updates with former classmates, our alumni community grows stronger with every active and engaged member.

I look forward to connecting in the months ahead. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2024!

Warm regards,

Ryan Fowler

Pats like skates

Survey Says: How Alumni Pronounce 'Go Pats'

Is it Pats like 'cats', or Pats like 'skates'? The results from our (un)scientific poll are in and 58% of respondents said Pats, like 'skates', is the correct pronunciation. Nikki Rodríguez '13 commented online: Former cheerleader here, we always said Pats (like skates). Conversely, Al Gore '81 shared: Prior to the '79 Rose Bowl Parade, the SHS Marching Patriots had a lengthy discussion and agreed that Pats, like 'cats', was correct. Let the debate roll on!

Patriots With a Purpose
Alumni Giving

Alumni Giving Creates Lasting Impact for Today's Patriots

The past year was a period of remarkable growth for the Stevenson Foundation, backed in part by generous contributions from our Patriot community. Alumni giving totaled $236,387 in 2023, which includes donations by individuals, organizations and Foundations, class reunion fundraising, and alumni employee giving.

This significant support represents a growing community of active and engaged alumni who make the wellbeing and success of today's students a philanthropic priority. Vital Foundation programs like One Family, which provides financially-fragile students with access to immediate essentials and resources, and Stevenson to College (S2C), which supports first-generation and financially-fragile students in their journeys to and through college, help ensure that all students at SHS can reach their fullest and brightest futures.

Our alumni community is also giving back in other ways. Whether it's volunteering for alumni events and Foundation fundraisers or lending their talents to our Board of Directors, your generosity and advocacy is a driving force behind the Foundation's incredible progress.
